Terms of Use

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• The information you provide when signing in must be accurate and kept up to date.
• Notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or infringing purpose.
• Add content about other people that is inaccurate, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to include.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
• Use sharing or invitation features to send unsolicited messages or to harass others.

You retain ownership of the family tree data, photos, and other content you submit to the Service (“Your Content”). You grant FamiKi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, use, display, and transmit Your Content solely as needed to operate the Service, including its sync and sharing features.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to add Your Content and for respecting the privacy of the people it describes.

The Service lets you invite others to view or edit your trees. You are responsible for deciding who to share with and what information you expose through these features. Be mindful of other people’s privacy when sharing family information.

The Service, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by FamiKi and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the FamiKi name or trademarks except as needed to use the Service.

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that your data will never be lost.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FamiKi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

You agree to indemnify and hold FamiKi harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms.

You may stop using the Service and delete your trees at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we decide to discontinue the Service, in whole or in part.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FamiKi operates, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
